Right and wrong become relative, or meaningless. Through the eyes of one small, quirky coterie of New Yorkers, the human condition unfolds before our eyes. This is the first in a trio of novellas by Pomeranz set in Manhattan’s art world. An earlier version of this book, called On the Far Edge of Love New York Stories, appeared as a serial in élan magazine.

I'm a sucker for Manhattan based love stories, and I found this one completely captivating. Ms. Pomeranz is an expert storyteller, developing her characters in a way that makes you really care about them. Loved this read and I'm keeping an eye out for her next book. I hope I don't have to wait too long.

This is a 5 star book for me because the message is so wonderful. No matter our age, our circumstances, we all feel love, loss, but have the choice to just accept what is comfortable or risk going for the passion in life and living to the fullest.
A quick and fun read that tugs at the heart-strings. Characters are well drawn and their stories interweave intriguingly.
Pomerantz paints a poignant picture of intertwined lives in New York.
Very much reminded me of the movie, "Paris, Je T'Aime", with touching vignettes.

Really enjoyed this the weaving of fascinating characters, told from the viewpoint of their unique perspectives. Pomeranz captures the drama in everyday life and layers in a riveting mystery to pull you along. She gives you the experience of New York society from top to bottom and finds the heart in each. Very good read!
A wonderfully engaging read. The characters were familiar and so believable. This was one of those books you wish would never end you wanted to know the continuing stories.
Stock Manhattan characters and situations propel this short work but their loves, accommodations and losses are portrayed both compassionately and accurately so that I got a sympathetic feeling for them and a week later they still reverberate with me. As well as the characters the big love story here is with the island of Manhattan in all its beauty, grossness and opportunity.
